"Is that a definite no or a maybe".
She paused for a minute, and one can see her forehead furrow in the familiar way when she is thinking.
The answer came out faster than I thought.
"No, it's not a maybe, it's a definite no".
Sometimes a definite no is a right answer to a lot of answered maybes.
